and Rig related solutions:
- Tow outs
- Inter-field moves
- Anchor handling tug control and anchor drop positioning
- Underwater acoustic positioning solutions
- Final positioning and heading confirmation
- Remote rig position QC monitoring
Key experience has been gained in the West and East Coast of India, where rig moves have been completed at Bombay High, Tapti, Panna, Krishna-Godavari, fields over the years. For rig move events, FSINPVT can mobilize personnel and positioning / navigation equipment with a very short lead time.
Co-ordination of anchor handling vessels and rig positioning are controlled by the survey personnel onboard the rig itself (or from an anchor handling tug as directed by the Client). Control of the anchor handling vessels is effected using Fugro's Tug Management software, with data telemetered to and fro using a radio link.
Hook-up Operations
We have assisted with many hook-up operations in the west coast of India. We provide Barge Management System comprising of one barge and two or more AHV’s and a very comprehensive display software with accurate in-field overview of all vessels involved.

Land Surveying
FSINPVT along with Elcome Survey has more than 20 years of experience in the field of Land Surveying. Our land surveying equipment consists of Differential GPS Receiver Systems, Total stations, Geodimeters, leveling equipment, Laser distometers and a wide range of mapping, land surveying and processing software.
Real Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS systems provides real time high accuracy positioning for very accurate Land based positioning.
We also carry out the following on shore
- Gyro Calibrations
- Verification of Navigation Equipment
- Establishment of Ground Control Points (GCP)
- Dimensional Controls
- Precision Leveling
- Road Survey
EQUIPMENTS
STARFIX-HP
To serve central offshore areas, Fugro have developed the STARFIX-High Performance (HP) Service. STARFIX-HP is based on dual frequency GPS instrumentation measuring the phase and code for the individual GPS satellites on the reference station and onboard the offshore vessel. By means of advanced computation algorithms, STARFIX-HPS ensures a short initialization time and robust performance with positional accuracies of 10cm and 15cm (95%) in the horizontal and vertical planes respectively.
STARFIX.XP
SkyFix-XP is a Precise Point Positioning (PPP) technology, which distinguishes itself from the traditional differential approach as satellite errors are not lumped together but estimated per source, per satellite; it is also known as a ‘State Space solution’. The GPS clock and orbit corrections are computed independently, free of ionospheric and tropospheric effects. Revolutionary Skyfix-XP that uses improved estimates of the GPS satellite orbits (State Space Solution) to provide Positioning services with positional accuracy, typically 10cm and 20cm (95%) in the horizontal and vertical planes respectively.
STARFIX.L1
Fugro's Starfix.L1 system utilises single frequency code correction data from the Fugro network of reference stations, delivered via both Inmarsat and SpotBeam satellites. These corrections, combined with a single frequency GPS receiver are used to produce a position of high accuracy. This system can provide a positional accuracy of better than 1.5 m (95%) horizontally at a distance of 500 km from the closest reference station.
Independent Solution
The Starfix.HP and SkyFix-XP systems and infrastructure are each totally autonomous. In this way, the two services can be used with confidence in those situations that demand totally independent systems for the highest levels of robustness and integrity. Dual satellite data delivery systems ensure further independence. |
