ASSISTANT POSITIONING ENGINEER / SURVEYOR
Description
The Assistant Positioning Engineer / Surveyor is one of the members of a survey team and is responsible for conducting the positioning jobs like Barge / Vessel positioning and mobilisation / demobilisation of equipments on the vessel or job site. He is also responsible for making the daily progress report and submission of a report on Survey after the completion of the job. His primary responsibilities will include:
- Assist in Job preparation and testing of equipment prior to mobilisation.
- Responsible for mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment
- Responsible for operation and basic troubleshoot of equipment deployed in the field.
- Responsible for execution of work as per scope, specification and schedule as briefed by the FSINPVT Project Manager, and submission of Reports.
- Responsible for ensuring safe working environment at site.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 - 2 years of work experience.
- B.Sc. with Mathematics/ Physics / Geology background and aggregate 55 %.
- Good Communication skills in English language and good interpersonal Skills

Geophysicists
Description
The Geophysicist is one of the members of a survey team and is responsible for all aspects relating to the quality of the recorded geophysical data, the completeness of the survey, and the interpretation of the geophysical records. He is also responsible for writing the final report and overseeing the production of charts, in coordination with the Project Manager. His primary responsibilities will include:
- To advise and assist during the installation of the bathymetric and geophysical equipment on the survey vessel.
- To be responsible for checking that the geophysical equipment is operating to the required standard, and if necessary performing calibration checks. To fully understand the principals of operation of all survey equipment.
- To oversee the recording of geophysical data and to operate as necessary the on-line graphic recorders to ensure that the equipment remains tuned and the records remain of good quality.
- To observe the recovery of all seabed samples, to analyse, log, classify, test and photograph the samples.
- To review all the on-line bathymetric and geophysical records, to identify any anomalies that may affect the suitability of the site, with regard to the purpose for which it has been selected.
- To perform a systematic interpretation of the analogue or digitally processed geophysical records onboard the survey vessel, as may be directed by the Party Chief/ Project Manager.
- To ensure that all digitally recorded geophysical data is fully backed up, where this is practical, and that all bathymetric and geophysical records are correctly labelled and boxed.
- To carry out a systematic interpretation of geophysical records, produce the necessary text/figures/ tables for the written report, oversee the compilation of charts, and check their final correctness
Requirements
- M.Sc.,/M.Tech – Geophysics or related subjects.
- 2 years experience in off shore surveys.
- Knowledge of geophysical equipment and software in use.
- High degree of technical reporting skills in English language

Oceanographer
Description
The Oceanographer performs all office and field related Oceanographic survey assignments as defined by the Project or Operations Manager or Party Chief. His primary responsibilities will include:
- Assist Party Chief with the execution of given work and tasks.
- Organise own work in given cases.(Installation , Deployment , Recovery of Oceanographic Instruments)
- Execute given work in accordance with specifications, procedures and work practices.
- Assist and if applicable processes data, carries out computations and compiles Oceanographic reports in given company format.
- On occasions is expected to liaise directly with client.
- Actively participate in implementation of QA procedures in the field environment.
Requirements
- M.Sc Oceanography or M.Tech in Ocean Engineering with 2 years of experience in Offshore Oceanographic work.
- Conversant with computer operation and a basic knowledge of application software.
- English language.

SURVEYOR
Description
The Surveyor is one of the members of a survey team and is responsible for conducting the survey job on field when deputed on any project. He is also responsible for making the daily report and a complete submission of the report after the completion of the job.
- Responsible for data acquisition during survey and onboard processing if necessary.
- Responsible for field calibration of equipment. when appointed as Party Chief:
- Ensures planning of resources such as equipment, personnel and vessel to effectively and safely carry out the work within the stipulated time.
- Communicates with client representative at site.
- Actively participate in Operations, Quality Assurance and HSE group meetings.

- Graduate or Equivalent course or Indian Navy.

ENGINEER
Description
The Engineer is one of the members of a survey team and is responsible for conducting the technical job like calibrations and mobilization of equipments on the vessel or job site. The engineer is also responsible to maintain the smooth functioning of all the equipments and troubleshooting. He is also responsible for making the daily report and a complete submission of the report after the completion of the job.
- Responsible for identification and traceability of incoming faulty equipment, carrying out inspection, repair and identifying equipment status.
- Responsible for Job preparation and testing of equipment prior to mobilisation.
- Responsible for mobilisation of equipment
- Responsible for calibration, installation, operation and maintenance of equipment deployed in the field.
- Responsible for ensuring safe working environment at site. Actively participate in Operations, Quality Assurance and HSE group meetings.

DATA PROCESSOR
Description
The Data Processor is responsible for processing of field data and the production of charts and maps. He/she ensures his/her data processing part and drafting activities required by different projects are carried out in accordance with the instructions and priorities given by the Data Centre Manager.
- Carry out processing and charting for assigned projects.
- Onshore processing and Quality Control of navigation, bathymetry and all other survey data sets acquired on Vessel. This includes the following data sets:
ROV data
AUV data
Multibeam data
Pipeline inspection / installation data sets
Positioning data sets.
- Identify requirements and request purchase of drafting consumables.
- Maintain survey results/charts/reports archive for all Jobs and store data in short and long term facilities.
- Maintain OSDC cell libraries for OPCO operations.
- Develop, review and implement charting and reporting techniques and procedures.
- Quality control work pertaining to data processing and charting.
- Providing feedback and suggestions on enhancements that are possible within current software and within processing procedures.
- MicroStation support for OPCO’s Data Processing and Charting departments.
- Any other duties requested by the Data Centre Manager.
Requirements
- Conversant with Data Processing software in use.
- Training in MicroStation and if required in AutoCAD.
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience.
- English language
